My only opinion on it -- after recently going over my tax stuff -- is
that if an online retailer keeps an active inventory of merchandise,
they should factor in their state sales tax for the item and appropriate
that through their Amazon retailer backend. Amazon as an online catalog
of sorts, I imagine makes a commission on their services regarding
transaction processing and all, however I'm not so sure they're the
one's exclusively responsible for state sales tax.
Even if they were subject to state sales tax, they have your address. So
when you purchase an item that is sold directly through amazon, they can
add the appropriate state tax to your total which would be paid to the
respective state.

Because of the makeup of Refresh-Austin, I wanted to get feedback on your

information for a government colleague.
Thank you for your input.
