Good point.  If a black guy cuts me off in traffic I'll call him a n_____.  If a woman cuts me off, I'll call her a cunt.  Those who delight in finding racism and sexism everywhere will then hurl these words at me.  Of course, their point falls apart when a guy cuts me off in traffic and I call him a prick.  Does that make me anti-men?
Why do some people like to find racism everywhere?  Maybe it gives them a feeling of moral superiority?  Maybe it helps prove to themselves that they themselves are not racist?  Probably a combination of reasons.
Of course I don't deny that real racism does exist.    It's just hard to find amid all the fake cases.

But they attempted no reprisal, nor did they accept Conan's urgent
invitation to approach within reach of the bloody chain in his hand.
Presently, grunting in their ape-like speech, they lifted the senseless black
and bore him out like a sack of wheat, arms and legs dangling.  They used his
key to lock the door behind them, but did not remove it from the gold chain
that fastened it to his girdle.  They took the torch with them, and as they
moved up the corridor the darkness slunk behind them like an animate thing.
Their soft padding footsteps died away, with the glimmer of their torch, and
darkness and silence remained unchallenged

To see this as against all blacks rather than these few blacks apparent in this story seems to me to perhaps be in error.  Just because these few blacks have an ape like speech is not necessarily racist or even derogatory unless one thinks apes as a lesser creature.
