Yes.

I think that if one side throws away the Geneva Convention (speaking of
present-day events, of course), all "rules" should be off.

Helluva difference between A BOOK OF FIVE RINGS and Eiji Yoshikawa,
too....still, hints of the "superiority complex" can be seen throughout
Yoshikawa's MUSASHI, there's no doubt about it.  This indicates the popular
culture and folk tradition, and how deeply it was ingrained, in my opinion.
Still a *great* fiction novel, though.
