I have a WACOM WP-642 pass/reject, 6-cavity duplexer which is tuned up on a 2-Meter pair for a 600 KHz split, and works excellent. It was originally ordered from WACOM to operate on a 270 KHz (!) split in the 151 MHz range VHF business band.
To get it to move to 2-Meters with a 600 KHz split, we had to order three new longer notch tuning capacitor brass tubes for one side (3 cans) of the duplexer (they're about 1/8" diameter, threaded inside on one end) from TX-RX, who now supports the WACOM products. I think I ordered 6-1/2" or 8-1/2" ones to replace three of the six original rods that weren't long enough to get a notch on 2-Meters. I've lost the original notes I took that had the original 151 MHz rod lengths, since I didn't ever expect that this duplexer would have to be returned to commercial service. We have an urgent need to retune this duplexer on a 155 MHz pair, with a 435 KHz split. When it was on 151 MHz, one side (3 cans) used 3-1/2" long notch tuning brass rods, but I don't remember the length of the three for the other 3 cans on the opposite side. Anyone have any idea? We could cut down the other ones, if necessary, if they're long enough. Fortunately, I did save the original 3-1/2" long ones, so one side of the duplexer might be able to be retuned okay. Unfortunately, TX-RX is closed for holidays until next week. Anyone have any info on the length that I need to use for this WP-642?
