What band are we talking about,2m,440? The Regency is not a very good brand
for a repeater. You must use good shielding throughout inclding the
feedlines. 40 feet can work if you were on say 147 linking to 145 and had a
good rf path to the other machine(yagis with good gain).
I have a GE MastrII base/repeater on 2 meters for sale as well as a
converted mobile...
