If the antenna is a exposed dipole, and you can identify the make and model number of the antenna just get hold of the manufacturers data sheet and dimension chart, which is usually presented as a graph of frequency vs length. The graphs usually end at 49-50mhz. Just "extend" the graph to your target frequency - 52 to 53 mhz and cut to match. I've always cut them a little at a time and measured with both an antenna noise bridge and a Bird wattmeter and ended up right where the graph predicted. I've done this on several dipole and bent-over ground plane antennas and had them fall right into place.
