Its low in the cycle right now for sure. When things are good on 10m there's a new problem for you guys in the US.....
The RSGB have just allocated the one of the repeater input channels and one of the output channels for unattended internet gateways. This was originally going to be in the all modes section ( good news ) but for some reason got moved! Great planning huh? Here is a snip from the RSGB's web site: 7 October 2003 CHANGE TO PROPOSED 29 MHz FREQUENCIES The Society's HF Manager (Colin Thomas, G3PSM) has requested that DCC reconsiders its proposals to repurpose three spot frequencies within the "All Modes" section of the 29 MHz band. Working closely with Colin and other IARU R1 colleagues we have concluded that while simplex internet voice gateways are clearly not "repeaters" in the traditional sense, it might be wise - at least for the short term - to attempt to accommodate initial experiments within the (29 MHz) repeater sub-band. Therefore, in the first instance, the spot frequencies we have now proposed to RA are:- a.. 29.530 MHz b.. 29.630 MHz Hmmmm. The 406-420 MHz M2s are ideal as a link. > Thank you for all of your support, > > Danny Please reconsider your decision of adding another repeater to 10m..... there are only four repeater channels in the band and they are unusable now (have you used a scanner recently ???) and it's the low side of the cycle... it's only going to get worse as the cycle goes back up... Years ago you could pick the 10m repeater you wanted to use by dialing up the appropriate tone. Not any more. Consider 6m - it's a lot more open and a lot more equipment available for it. And again - just swap the RX boards in a 6m and a UHF Mastr-II. Mike WA6ILQ Yahoo! Groups Links Yahoo!
