Hello All,
In my personal and club repeaters systems I bought a number of the Morris Softronics S.A.M.E. units and installed them inside a number of GE Master II/M receivers that were used as remote receivers originally, never were transceviers. At one sight where our club 443 repeater is located, we have a co-hosted 2m repeater at the site, a public service 150+Mhz system and a nearby Federal tranmitter and a lot of Maritine activity. So I took an old VHF mobile duplexer and notched the 2m repeater transmitter out some what, added bandpass filtering at the 162.450 transmitter we receive frequency. For photos and more info see the "Severe Weather" page at: http://www.aerialsarc.org/ These systems have been in service for years now, the Morris Softronics S.A.M.E. units are very well designed and made, the firmware is very good and so are the manuals. When you want to change something, just show up at the site with a laptop and straigth RS-232 cable. In my scenario, I just lift the cover on the MII receiver case and lift the board a bit and plug in the cable. Once setup you never really need to change anything unless you want to add or delete areas of alert interest or timers or something stops working. I have actually never changed a thing yet at any of the sites, they work great, very busy a lot this weekend with all the flood information here in NJ. /s/ Steve, N2CKH ----- Original Message ----- From: Eric Lemmon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Saturday, April 2, 2005 8:54 pm Subject: Re: [Repeater-Builder] Weather Alert Monitor > > Leon, > > I have a WX-1000 weather radio/controller that I will install at > one of > my 2m repeaters in the near future.
