That sounds like the antenna relay control line. Yes - it needs to be
connected to the amp and should be connected to the large board on the
bottom of the radio. It will be switching the antenna to the
transmitter any time the radio is keyed. You can move a wire in the
connector back at the large board (the system audio/squelch board) and
keep the relay keyed all the time. If this is done, you don't have to
use the Darlington arrangement for the PTT operation. A simple
transistor switch is all that is required.
