Hi Jed, Not being clear on exactly what you want to do... you can set the repeater up as normal with zero tail/hang time. You could then externally extend the hang/tail time cos.
If you're trying to remove the encoding during no COS tail/hang time then you would probably need to not run any internal repeater tail/hang time. Another possible option would be to externally source repeater ptt using the main (set for csq tx and a different rx dcs code) and external tone table set to encode and decode the desired normal tones. The external repeater/duplex base ptt ctcss/dcs should follow the first (main) encode table value. If that value is set to carrier squelch... then you have not tone going out the door.
