For those that want to follow, the long discussions about this are happening on the #replicant IRC channel between me (dllud) and Adonay (adfeno). After looking at the sketch bellow I had the following main comments: - I instantly liked the phone mockup, which we can also re-use for the flyers. - I didn't like the arrangement. Doesn't feel/look ok, there's too much white space, not very well distributed. - I prefer a link instead of the QR code, mostly due to simplicity. Replicant's URL is plain easy: replicant.us A QR code, besides making our life harder in terms of space arrangement, comes with usability and privacy concerns compared to the simple replicant.us URL. Afterwards we starting deconstructing the entire banner idea. On the bottom line, what sets Replicant apart from all other Android distros is neither Privacy or Security: it is Freedom. We agreed that the main idea we want to convey is: - "Hi there, dear visitor to this conference. Look here! We build an Android distro with 100% free software. Come closer and check it running on these phone we have on the table. Wanna try?" Following that line, I got into minimalism mode and prepared the version that I am attaching. Comments welcomed.
