Hi everybody,

During today's IRC meeting we concluded that the banner should be kept
simple, like the one I attached in the previous email.

After a bit of research, I found out that banners are not the common
medium used to convey ideas. They are mostly used to identify a
place/store/stand. Even unknown/small brands in a trade fair have
banners with just their name and logo. Their ideas are usually conveyed
through other means such as the items on display or auxiliary
advertising mediums such as roll-ups and posters.

As such, we started discussing which sentence we should use bellow the logo.

The original sentence I had was:
> The Android distro that respects your freedom.

Others have been proposed like:
> The distribution that respects your freedom. Android smartphones don't.
> No phone/tablet updates? Don't throw a brick in the wall! Free/liberate it
> Android, with freedom.
> Free/liberate your mobile.

We mostly settled at:
> Fully free Android distribution

Though that may confuse a lot of people with the good old thing of free
as in "freedom" vs free as in "free beer". Perhaps we should opt for:
> Fully free software Android distribution
or
> The libre Android distro

All these sentences are dull and boring. To counter that, GNUtoo had the
nice idea of creating addons for the banner. Addons will be strips of
paper that we can hang from the grommets on the lower side of the
banner. They will act much like a MOTD or a roadside letter board. We
can use them to add a joke or catchy sentence, and change it everyday of
the conference. Examples are:
> Hack your phone.
> You can disable the modem!
> Privacy is impossible without free software.

Ideas for jokes and catchy sentences are welcomed.

Another thing to consider, now that we are going minimal, is whether we
should keep the phone mockup on the banner.
I think we should keep it. It takes little space and adds a lot of context.
