@holdenk, do you refer this [Initial Decom PR for Spark 3](http://apache-spark-developers-list.1001551.n3.nabble.com/Initial-Decom-PR-for-Spark-3-td28821.html)? It has one reply and has no committer's or PMC's feedbacks. It seems the changes are in the core which affects all the components, and the feature is pretty big considering the umbrella ticket SPARK-20624. There seems two non-test PRs merged - one is this, and another one is merged by you https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/28370 apparently without addressing all concerns from reviewers. Maybe we should stop merging this, in particular, without approvals or addressing feedbacks. Another point I would like to raise is, do we also do the SPIP?
