Sure, but the name is a POSIX thing from 30 years ago.
I understand that a program with no output might reasonably log to `stdout`
but I don't think it's crazy to use the two channels available for two distinct
purposes; otherwise they can't be distinguished. For example, you write a Spark
job that computes pi to a million decimal places. How can you pipe pi to a file
now?
Error messages are marked with "ERROR" in the standard log format.
