Yes, you would deprecate rather than remove methods and then likely remove
them in the next major release, like a 2.0.0 release. That's a straightforward
process, but first the question is whether it is worth doing, and it's probably
not purely for consistency. That's why the question is still whether there is
something this is buying that you can't accomplish with the `RDD` API itself in
both batch and streaming.
