I haven't taken a deep look into code but just wondering according to the PR description. I know some code was added in 3.1 but push-based wasn't usable at that time. So, do we have to handle the compatibility issue? I also noticed a similar issue (see https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/33078#discussion_r660696192) in another PR and @mridulm told me these kinds of cases don't have to be a compatibility issue. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
