Update: after discussing with the SPIP authors' design doc, which says OSS has a single kind of file that behaves like an external file, `FileType` is now a single mode-less type (a singleton like `VariantType`) instead of carrying a managed/external mode. `FILE` and `FILE EXTERNAL` both parse to it, a field's JSON is always `"file"`, and `toDDL` declares columns as `FILE EXTERNAL`. The description is updated. Requiring `EXTERNAL` in table column definitions is left to the table DDL part. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
