Oh, interesting. I'm not on that list and wasn't aware of that discussion. I also prefer `Assisted-by: `. It matches what, to date, I've been writing on my PRs: "I wrote this with assistance from GitHub Copilot." `Generated-by` is too strong, which is why I haven't used it; `Co-authored-by` is better but can also over-represent AI's role. Shall we then update the template to suggest either `Generated-by` or `Assisted-by`, depending on whether AI authored the patch or just helped out the human author? Current ASF guidance seems to [allow][1] us to choose our own trailer.
