Review Comment:
Confirmed by a scratch run: both queries fail with `MISMATCHED_TYPES` at
a90e1fb, with AQE on and off. Fixed in
[1263713](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/59916/commits/12637135cc699a4a4ba3bf1888cabedd839888b6)
as you suggest: `cannotFail` rewrites top-down, checks each up-cast and
normalization against its own child, and puts a stand-in of the same type in
its place. New test "check each cast in the creation side against its own
child" with both queries. The first gets no bloom filter, and the second gets
it. `cast(cast(f5 as float) as int)` is in the test for keys that can fail now.

the plan that the subquery reads must not refer to a file metadata column. New
test with `d._metadata.file_block_start = 0`. I did not run your bucketed shape.
