It is addressed in [1263713](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/59916/commits/12637135cc699a4a4ba3bf1888cabedd839888b6): - 1: a scratch run at a90e1fb confirmed it. `cannotFail` now rewrites top-down and checks each cast against its own child, as you suggest. - 2: the plan that the bloom filter's subquery reads must not refer to a file metadata column. - The rest is answered in the threads. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
