Why do you need to change the mutability of broadcast variable in order to
enable that? In general, immutability makes the whole thing safer.
You should still be able to accomplish what you are trying to do by simply
checking whether the value has changed; and if it hasn't yet, just reuse the
same broadcast variable object.
