Thanks for cc'ing me @mridulm. Similar concern with ^.
For `null` case, I thought it makes sense because the property is unset.
However, for case of those cases, e.g., `""` and `"test:"`, wouldn't it make
sense to not support these because they are invalid values explicitly set?
