I enabled it, rebooted, started my jobs again, got a new kernel
panic within 15 minutes, and... nothing.

I would have expected that system-config-kdump had configured
it properly (/var/crash was mentioned), but I think it doesn't,
as /var/crash is empty.

Should I manually edit /etc/kdump.conf?  Like:

  ext3 /dev/sda8
  path /var/crash
  default reboot

(/dev/sda8 is my / device where /var/crash is located)?
