So, is this is a big no on the firewire support? # wc -l /lib/modules/*/modules.ieee1394map 1 /lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.1.el5/modules.ieee1394map 1 /lib/modules/2.6.18-8.el5/modules.ieee1394map 2 total
It would have been nice to mention it in the Release Notes: # egrep -i '(1394|firewire)' RELEASE-NOTES-en Or maybe there is just something I don't know about how to use it in RHEL5 since libraw1394 is included (my reference is FC6, where there are a bunch of kmods in kernel/drivers/ieee1394). I don't remember hearing anything definite on these lists, but our reseller (dlt.com) did send a marketing message claiming better support for "USB and Firewire devices." I did find this Bugzilla about a conflict between the names of the firewire "raw1394" and the 1,394th raw device: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=233956 I guess systems with thousands of raw devices are more important than all the firewire hardware out there. :) _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
