Still no luck
I did not touch the up2date file.
and :
[EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# grep sslCACert= /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date
sslCACert=/usr/share/rhn/RHNS-CA-CERT

I will try to install the DVD with default settings to see what will happen.

Hi
The only time I saw similar error messages was for the following
reasons:

time on hardware out of sync or not having an internet connection or
having wrong proxy settings.

Other than that I am unsure what would be causing the problem. The time
stamp on the file I don't believe is relevant to your problem, its just
the date the file was packaged.

Double check your settings in the rhn config file that it points to the
correct certificate directory.

Tx for the reply.
The date is OK but I resync just to be sure :

[EMAIL PROTECTED] rhn]# ntpdate vicenza
10 Mar 10:28:10 ntpdate[3829]: adjust time server 192.168.4.19 offset
-0.002668 sec

[EMAIL PROTECTED] rhn]# date
Mon Mar 10 10:28:12 EDT 2008

[EMAIL PROTECTED] rhn]# rhn_register --nox
There was an SSL error: [('PEM routines', 'PEM_read_bio', 'bad end
line'), ('x509 certificate routines', 'X509_load_cert_crl_file', 'PEM
lib')]
A common cause of this error is the system time being incorrect.
Verify
that the time on this system is correct.

And the cert is there :

[EMAIL PROTECTED] rhn]# ls /usr/share/rhn/RHNS-CA-CERT -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1164 Nov 13 19:16 /usr/share/rhn/RHNS-CA-CERT

I installed a lost of RHEL 5.1 (I used the DVD image) I do not know
what
I missed.

Hmmm, what is the error you get on the command line?

It looks like SSL trouble to me. Missing certificates or
certificates in
wrong place.

Make sure that the location in this file points to the correct
location...
/etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date

the entry you are looking for looks something like this:
sslCACert=/usr/share/rhn/RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT

browse to that directory and make sure the contents and the entry in
the
rhn config file match up. If there is no such files in the directory
then you still need to install the ssl rpm.

Hope it helps.
