Are you sure that you are able to:

 1. Change preferred path of an active (i.e. mounted and with
    I/O) logical drive, using the SAN configuration tool 
    ("Storage Manager").

 2. Wait for 10 seconds.

 3. _Not_ have an alarm situation in the SAN?

Damn. This is exactly the kind of support nightmare which keeps expensive 
(and painful-to-work-with) single-vendor-solutions like AIX+PowerPC
+DSxxxx and HP-UX+...+... alive.

Altough I'm very disappointed with Red Hat support, IBM is even 
more disappointing: A document like 
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/systems/support/system_x/ibm_dd_ds4kfc_8.01.07-kx_linux2.6_anycpu.txt
is surprisingly self-contradictory and confusing.
