Sorry, that's most likely my fault. The CUPS update includes DNS-SD
support.

Thanks, this answers my question. But isn't some dependency information
missing from a package somewhere? "rpm -q --whatrequires
avahi-compat-libdns_sd" says no package requires it. The dependency is
revealed if you try to remove it though.
Is there something that that can be done about this so that it doesn't
happen again, like remove the dependency on avahi in
avahi-compat-libdns_sd?
I didn't intend to start the debate about package bloat again.
