Is there any specific reason you don't consider Veritas Storage
Foundation to be "RH Linux native"? The platform support list for
Storage Foundation does include RHEL5, so I'm wondering if there is a
specific reason you don't want to consider that as a solution. If you
are looking for something shipped by Red Hat or something that is open
source, then that does limit the options. If you just were not aware of
the Linux support in Storage Foundation, I would suggest trying it out
on Linux since you seem to have some familiarity with the product.

Here is the official system requirements list for Storage Foundation:

Subject: [rhelv5-list] Automatically moving older files to chaper
stroragedevices

Hi,
I'm looking for a solution to automatically move uninmportant or
out-of-date
files to cheaper storage device without changing the way users or
applications access those files.
I know that Veritas SF does it but I'd like to know if there is some RH
Linux native solution.

Thanks
Domenico Viggiani
