This sounds like an excellent idea. What do you think of the idea of emitting events that correspond to everything that you mentioned? Then one listener implementation could do all the logging as you proposed, but it would not be limited to that. Listening for events could also help with automated unit testing. I'm not familiar with JMX, perhaps that's what that's all about.. In any case, it's an exciting idea Geert!
