Hello,

Before you all shout FLAC! at me, I've been weighing up the options for
a lossless storage format.

I have a few windows XP machines in the house.

The things I'd like to do are:

1. Play my music through squeezeboxes natively. (E.g. be able to fast
forward through a very long track)

2. Have just one ripped, lossless library, but be able to synchronise
my music on to a new ipod in a lossy but 'gapless' format.

As far as I can see, there isn't any format and software combination
which allows me to do this. Am I wrong?
