I agree with Accuraterip being not so great with UK discs - I get
failure on almost 50% of the discs I get. I've now got EAC set up
exactly as I need. I use MAREO and rip in three formats - FLAC for the
Squeezebox and for archiving (Slimserver runs on a Windows small
business server and I run a seperate monthly tape backup of all my
music), 320k AAC VBR for use on my iPod in my car's Lexicon Logic 7
sound system, and 160k VBR for the kids Creative players.

I've done lots of testing with discs which generate perfect Accuraterip
results. I use a Lite-on SHM 165P6S DVD drive. The EAC seetings suggest
turning on C2 plus the "drive caches audio tag". This second option
slows down extraction significantly, but I've found that with my drive
certainly turning it on makes no difference to the generated CRC - with
all the drives the red blocks show that error correction is being
employed, so if you do want to speed up extraction and keep EAC try the
same tests on your drive.

I do like the Lite-On drives - they tend to work with most media and
Lite-on update the firmware about once a month as new media is
introduced.
