That logic would make Windows a pretty darned good OS, though from your
last statement I can see how the cost of training employees (or one's
self) on a non-standard OS would add to the total cost.

Something would have to be twice as good as EAC for me to pay money for
it, after all bits are bits. Making waffles would be a good start...

EAC is NOT slow. Either one's drive or re-reading every sector can be
slow, but EAC gives many other options for the impatient, including
burst mode with test and copy- which is considered as accurate as
secure mode by some. 

Since pristine discs will usually satisfy accurateRip with one pass in
burst mode, I don't see a need to pay cash for an app that will re-rip
with the same method when there is a mismatch, because re-ripping with
a different method will be much more effective and seldom required.
