Hi All, This is what Slim Devices says on their website:
iTunes + Easy to use, quick, good at tagging. Does WAV, MP3, AAC (lossy and lossless). Manages your music library and is supported by SlimServer. - Not so good with difficult discs. Not on Linux. Won't do FLAC. Can't handle multiple tags. Tips: * You cannot be certain that your CD has ripped perfectly with iTunes. If this is important to you, look to one of the options below that have better error checking. However, for speed, convenience and ease-of-use, there is no better. So they are saying SS supports itunes, but still can't handle apple lossless right? It still has to convert to either FLAC or WAV to play the apple lossless? I'm more than a bit frustrated right now. Decided to go with FLAC, but can not get good results from either EAC or poweramp, so once again looking for other options. Posters in another thread state that apple lossless converted on the fly to sqeezebox does not sound as good as FLAC. I wonder with my components, and my ear, if I would tell the difference, but others claim they can. Anyone care to straighten me out here? All I want is an easy solution to get ready to purchase a sqeezebox.
