My usual method for getting DVD-Audio to MP3 is to make a digital copy
from my DVD player (Arcam DV79, supports DVD-Audio) to my CD recorder
(Sony CDX-W100 I think?) then rip and encode the resulting CD-RW disc.

Although I have very few so-called "hi-resolution" discs, Faith Hill's
"Cry" and Fleetwood Mac's "Say You Will" as pure DVD-Audio, Lee Ann
Womack's greatest hits, Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" and a couple of
others on DualDisc.

I've noticed there's far less compression on DVD-A (or the DVD side of
DualDisc releases) than the CD version. The above method produces
highly satisfactory results.
