I have been using ogg for years, generally at -q8. Nowadays I use flac for my collection and use ogg for remote computers and for my portable player.
Even with good headphones (Sennheiser HD-600 and HD-650) and headphone amp I *think* I can hear the difference between flac and ogg -q8 in some spots but I have not done blind ABX test. On the other hand, I mostly listen rock or electronic music and I have only tested those.
