A SliMP3 is three generations of hardware behind current. 2003 might not be that long ago, but is ages in technology terms. Don't worry though, it is still a useful device and i doubt support for it will be going anywhere as far as SlimServer is concerned.
Because the SliMP3 only supports MP3 your server is having to transcode the AAC tracks into MP3 before sending this out to the player. If the server is slow this can bog things down. Same is often true for interenet radio when it isn't streamed as MP3 in the first place. Having said this, there might be a problem with the transcoding parameters in SlimServer. It might be trying to use a very high quality value for the MP3 encoding and so being less than real time. What version of SS are you running? What Mac are you running it on? -- funkstar ------------------------------------------------------------------------ funkstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36390 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
