I'd look on the popular P2P filesharing systems - someone else may have already successfully ripped those CDs. (I usually wouldn't advocate filesharing, but you've bought the CDs, right?)
If that doesn't work, then I'd be tempted to return the CDs as "faulty". Cause a stink and try to get a replacement that works. Then complain directly to the manufacturer and threaten to take your custom elsewhere. Best of luck!
