Spare HDD backup is best. Use an external USB 2 type box and install an "internal" drive. "Internal" drives come with 5 year warranties. "External" drives come with 1 or 2 year warranties. It is a lot faster to make a back-up using an HDD than any other method/medium.
An external HDD can be taken to work, loaned out to friends (very RELIABLE friends only), taken to parties, or stored off-site in case a fire/flood/earthquake destroys your server.
