I can answer this one "compression level". It justs sets the quality of compression algorithm: 0: fast compression, less compression (quicker encoding, larger files) 9: slow compression, more compression (longer encoding, smaller files)
The quality of the decoded file is the same: lossless, ie same as original (bit perfect).
