USB works fine for me also. How many CD's do you have in your collection? While storage is cheap, you may want to calculate how long the 500G drive will handle your needs. Chances are you may want to replace it with the latest technology at some point in the not too distant future. At the reduced rate that I find I'm adding to my collection these days, my current drive will last about 2 more years, at which time I'll probably replace it.
