Given the choice, and if speed is your concern, eSATA would be the way
to go.  If the motherboard has SATA headers, adding an eSATA port costs
only a couple bucks.

That said, USB 2.0 and Firewire 400/800 are more than fast enough for
streaming audio.  You'd only really notice the speed difference when
copying or working with the files on the drive.  The downside to eSATA
is that it's not as universal, so you may not be able to use the drive
with many laptops.
