I don't currently have any albums tagged this way, but I'd like to. ;)

I haven't been keeping up with the state of tag frame in general, be it
APE or MP3, but I was hoping that by now there would be a brand new tag
created that would allow one to store a unique track date in addition
to album date per track. For backwards compatibility the original date
tag would probably have to be used for Album date since so much
existing software already makes that assumption.

Compilation albums of any type/genre/format more often than not contain
tracks released in different years. It would be great to be able to
match those tracks against other copies from studio albums, allowing
one to keep versions straight. A track can be slightly modified in
subsequent years without having any "remix" information appended to the
title.

The most useful place to display this information with the Slim
products will be in the web or other non-player interface that can show
you multiple lines of information at once. Or with a new custom
multi-line info display on the Squeezebox I suppose.
