The option I use is to have both FLAC and ALAC. I use the FLACs for my transporter and the ALACs for my iPod. The FLAC and ALAC files are kept on separate discs.
I rip in one format using dBpoweramp, and then do a batch overnight transcode to obtain the other format. OK, so this doubles the storage space, but it gives you the best file for the purpose AND creates a backup strategy. -- bigfool1956 David Ayers Music is what counts, hifi just helps us enjoy it more ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bigfool1956's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47303 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
