I've found I can't hear the difference between mp3 (at, say, 192kb/s 
VBR) and a lossless format in the noisy environment that is a car, no 
matter how good the ICE install.

mp3 means I get more tunes on my 60GB iPod than I would if I used a 
lossless format.

I'd actually prefer to convert to aac (better quality for same size, or 
small size for same quality) but I can't find a decent encoder and 
tagging library that I can script.
