This is only a problem if your file has a positive replaygain tag that, if honored, would cause its volume to rise above 0 dB in spots. http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5119
Certainly seems that you could see the tagging software being to blame here, that one could argue that neither album nor track replaygain should ever be more than (-1 * trackPeak). Let's say you have a track that peaks at 0 dB for 0.25 seconds but is really quiet, and your RG app suggests +7 dB of gain. How is SqueezeCenter or your Squeezebox supposed to know before starting the track that +7 dB of gain is going to cause clipping? -Peter -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver ContextMenu FuzzyTime KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54004 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
