Okay so now we have some detail. The REAL problem is that WinAmp and WMP are buggy, correct? And you need to mistag the music in order for these buggy apps to work. First off, I certainly hope that you've filed feature requests for these apps to get them working correctly. Secondly, I believe setting the compilation tag to 1 allows SqueezeCenter to work even with music that's been mistagged as you describe. If it's not then I'd agree we have a bug. MrSinatra;368088 Wrote: > its a catch 22 Assuming there are more problems than what you've described, then yes. It's possible that WMP and WinAmp are both so buggy that there's no way to tag your music such that it will work the same in both the buggy apps and in a well-behaving app like SqueezeCenter. However I haven't seen evidence that this is the case. Generally speaking if an app is so buggy that it forces you to mistag your data, I'd look into using other apps. My collection has about 350 albums and 2 were improperly guessed. But since the improper guess was due to inadequate tagging, they were correctly detected once I provided adequate information in the tags. Can you provide a specific example of a compilation that cannot be made to work in SqueezeCenter with proper tagging? As of this moment I'm not sure such a thing exists. To me, it sounds like this whole thread is about bugs in WinAmp and Windows Media Player. -- CatBus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CatBus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7461 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56078 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
