I agree that the AMG db is way seriously better than FreeDB. DBPoweramp doesn't currently do retagging, though (folks on the forums have been asking and they're responding - looks like this will become a plugin). If you're patient, you could just wait for that. If it's driving you crazy, you could try MusicIP, which, once it's "fingerprinted" your tracks has some tag info (year, artist, album, title, genre) which you can then optionally use to correct your tags. Note that the free version can do this.
There are a number of "cover art finder" applications out there (many are free).
