Sorry if I confused the issue. F2K = foobar2000 ( http://www.foobar2000.org/ ) an amazingly versatile audio player/converter. The interface is quite steep to learn, but it is a real swiss army audio knife. I use it to replay-gain flac files. I used it also to check the content of the ripped AC3 and DTS files before proceeding with further conversion ( or packaging ?) with SPDIFCONVERT. The AC3 decoder is required for F2K to play AC3 files. Of course this step is not needed for the actual conversion - it's just a way to check that the source material is ok. Hope this helps.
