Hi Everyone,

One of the things I've been meaning to share is a guide to how I handle
digital audio. What I mean by this is a set of complete step-by-step
instructions to getting "perfect" audio rips, "perfect" audio burns,
high quality transcoding, on-the-fly decoding of HDCD, etc. Of course,
SqueezeCenter is currently the centerpiece in my audio setup.

First of all, I admit to a major obsessive compulsive problem when it
comes to audio quality. I sweat even the smallest details (perhaps
that is part of the fun). This is definitely not of interest to people
who want a one-click, one program solution.

There is probably not a lot new here for people who are old pros, but I
might have something of interest for people getting started or those who
aren't happy with their current setup.

I've already written the first four parts (ripping, burning,
transcoding, and HDCD) with an intro which you can see here:

http://www.cuttingthebills.com/2010/06/my-complete-guide-to-digital-audio.html

Although my current setup is mostly based on Windows, the music doesn't
have to be stored (or served) from a Windows machine.

I plan to add at least a few more parts (on Backup, and misc tools that
I find useful). However, I'm sure I'll think of something else before I
finish.

Finally, there are many ways to do this. I enjoy this technology and
plan to explore and write about other methods in the near future.

Any feedback welcome,

Thanks

George
