Hi Guys,

Sorry for the newbie question. I googled WAV to FLAC Conversion and
was brought to this particular thread
http://forums.sonos.com/showthread.php?t=11617 on the Sonos forum which
I am not a member of....yet.

I just purchased a Transporter, am new to SBS, and consequently just
created a SBS library of the WAV files of my 1,284 CD Titles which I
have created over many years (along with MP3 versions to play on my
phone). So SBS reports that I have accumulated 19,091 of these WAV
files over the years.

My question is, should I even consider creating FLAC versions of my WAV
files and just maintain FLAC files? If so, would dbpoweramp be the
preferred software to do this in a "batch" automated mode? Can I add
the tagging in a batch automated mode also--will that happen as part of
the FLAC to WAV conversion or do I have to add the tags to each
individual file? I do not want to have to manually convert each file
individually as you may agree.

I think with the amount of files I have invested in the WAV format that
it wouldn't be worth the time to convert to FLAC. But....I welcome
everyone's advice to convince me otherwise.

Thanks Guys!

Ed
